📜 Course Description

Welcome to 7th Grade Science Advanced with Ms. Dang! This course is interdisciplinary with a content focus on: matter and energy; force, motion, and energy; Earth and space; organisms and environments. Our class will blend interactive binders with in-class labs, activities, and digital assignments. Scientific investigation and reasoning skills including safe practices as outlined in the Texas Safety Standards are integrated into the content .

A 90%-100% B 80%-89% C 70%-79% D 60%-69% F < 60%

Assignment Submission

Unless directed otherwise, all assessments and assignments will be completed in Google Classroom. This will include lesson assignments, readings, and practice work. Binder checks will also be categorized as an assignment grade.

If a student is absent for a an assignment, quiz, or a project, their due date for it will be extended based on how many days they were absent.

Retakes

Students are permitted to submit ONE retake for daily assignments they score less than a 100. The highest of the two scores will be their final grade for that assignment in the grade book. (Exceptions include project grades and tests.)
Students are permitted to submit ONE retake for major assessments they score less than a 70. The highest possible score a student can earn with a retake is a 70. (Exceptions include projects, and state or district assessments.)

⏰Dealey International Academy Late Work Policy

Grading policy for late and/or missing assignments:

Student grades will be reduced by 10% for each school day the assignment is late (not each class day) until the grade is 50%. Example:

1 school days late = 10% off assignment grade
2 school days late = 20% off assignment grade
